Olivia Newton-John: Who is the man found dead in her home?

Olivia Newton-John: A man was shot to death at the Florida home of Olivia Newton-John Monday. Police now say it was a suicide by a contractor working on their home.

Authorities say a man has been found dead from a gunshot wound inside a South Florida home owned by singer Olivia Newton-John and her husband.

Jupiter police Sgt. Scott Pascarella said Monday that the victim is a 41-year-old man who didn't live there and wasn't related to the residents.

The Palm Beach Post reported Tuesday that the police had identified the victim as Christopher Pariseleti, a Tequesta resident, who shot himself Monday afternoon in Olivia Newton-John’s home.

Pariseleti, 41, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Sgt.  Pascarella said. Pariseleti, the president of family-run Pariseleti Construction, was working at Newton-John’s Jupiter Inlet Colony home which she owns with her husband John Easterling.

He is not related to the homeowners and does not live in the home, Pascarella said.

In a statement released to Entertainment Tonight, a representative for the couple said: "Olivia and her husband John are in shock over the tragic event that occurred at their Florida home yesterday. At this time we are awaiting additional information from investigators, but can confirm that the couple was not in Florida at the time and, the deceased was not a family member."

The 7,429-square-foot home on .35 acres sold for $4.1 million in May 2009, according to the property appraiser’s office. It was built in 1975, when it sold for $160,000. Two gossip news sites reported that the house was for sale. The celebrity gossip site, GossipExtra, reported this month that television personality Rosie O’Donnell was under contract to buy the home. O’Donnell sold her Miami mansion for $16.5 million in June.
