'SpongeBob 2' will star Antonio Banderas as a pirate
'SpongeBob 2,' starring Antonio Banderas, will film live-action scenes in Georgia. 'SpongeBob 2' comes as the original TV show, 'SpongeBob Squarepants, is still running on Nickelodeon.

SpongeBob SquarePants is coming to the coast of Georgia.
The Savannah Morning News reports that "SpongeBob SquarePants 2" is set to film live action sequences in Savannah and on Tybee Island in coming weeks.
The paper reports that Antonio Banderas will star as a pirate in the movie, which is a sequel to a 2004 "SpongeBob" movie that grossed more than $140 million.
The SpongeBob sequel will begin filming on Tybee Sept. 30 and in downtown Savannah Oct. 9. It's based on the popular cartoon from the Nickelodeon cable television channel, which follows a sea sponge who lives in a pineapple and has adventures with his friends Patrick, a starfish, and Sandy, a squirrel. SpongeBob is also employed at the restaurant the Krusty Krab, which is run by a crab named Mr. Krabs.
