It sounded promising. Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan play a married English couple who venture to Paris to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. But “Le Week-End,” directed by Roger Michell and written by Hanif Kureishi, is a long slog of marital dysfunction.
Both actors try gamely, Jeff Goldblum has a funny cameo as a monied expat, and there is much eating at fancy restaurants to whet the appetite. What’s missing is any fundamental reason to be watching these whiners. Grade: C- (Rated R for language and some sexual content.)
