Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn team up for ‘Snatched’

In the action comedy, the costars play a mother and daughter who are kidnapped while vacationing in Ecuador. Hawn hasn’t been in a movie in 15 years.

Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn (who hasn’t been in a movie in 15 years) team up in the almost entirely laugh-free “Snatched,” a dim action comedy that has the costars playing a mother and daughter who are kidnapped while vacationing in Ecuador. Hawn delivers a matronly, toned-down version of her ditzy shtick, and Schumer, who has yet to find the right footing for her subversive talents in the movies, dutifully enacts her own potty-mouthed persona. (No, I didn’t like “Trainwreck” either.) It may not matter to audiences that this film – directed by Jonathan Levine and written by Katie Dippold (who also wrote the almost entirely laugh-free “Ghostbusters” reboot) – is junk. But shouldn’t it matter at least to Hawn and Schumer? Grade: D (Rated R for crude sexual content and language throughout, including some sexual references and violence.)
