Garden Wildlife
A poem

Garden Wildlife
Squirrel
On the feeder
Again
Nonchalant two-paws hold
Splayed toes needle claws
Sunlight through frill of tail
Belly fur like thick thistledown
Wiry whiskers brindled back
The feeder
Sold as squirrel-proof
In truth is not –
And neither am I
