Twenty years after his win at Augusta, 52-year-old Fred Couples grabbed a share of the second-round lead at the Masters, making seven birdies to get to 5-under par and a tie with Sergio Garcia, Rory McIlroy and Jason Dufner.
They were all one shot ahead of Lee Westwood, who made double bogey on 18 to finish a round of 1-over 73. Westwood, who led virtually all day, lost the lead when he three-putted from about 12 feet on the 18th green.
That gave Couples a share of the lead as he headed to the 18th tee.
A shot back at 4 under was Louis Oosthuizen, who overcame a double bogey on No. 1 to shoot even-par 72.
