World Cup schedule Tuesday: Uruguay vs Netherlands
The World Cup schedule restarts at 2:30 pm ET, with Uruguay vs Netherlands. Diego Forlán leads the last remaining South American team against a favored Dutch team.

The semifinals of the World Cup schedule begin Tuesday and end Wednesday. Only one South American and three European teams team remain, out of the five South American and six European teams that advanced past the opening round.
Tuesday (July 6):

The No. 4-ranked Netherlands is coming off a spectacular 2-1 upset against Brazil on Friday. They come into today's match with solid support from South Africa's Afrikaners. (READ: Three reasons why the Netherlands will win)
For all those reasons, No. 16-ranked Uruguay has an uphill battle. It's the lowest-ranking team in the semifinals, and only Luis Suarez's unsportsmanlike handball in the quarterfinal match against Ghana allowed Uruguay to defeat the Africans. That said, perhaps Uruguay has nothing to lose and will play with an unmatchable tenacity led, of course, by the long-haired striker Diego Forlán. (READ: Three reasons why Uruguay will win)

Today's semifinals come after a weekend of upsets. On Friday, the Netherlands beat Brazil (2-1) and Uruguay beat Ghana (4-2 on penalty kicks after tying 1-1 in regular time). On Saturday, Germany rocked Argentina (4-0) and Spain beat Paraguay (1-0).
