Watch: The art of cyberwar
Join the Atlantic Council's Cyber Statecraft Initiative and Passcode on Tuesday, September 6 for a panel discussion on the evolving cyberthreats facing the Asia-Pacific.
Passcode is proud to serve as the sole media partner for the Cyber Risk series of events with the Atlantic Council's Cyber Statecraft Initiative. Please join us on Tuesday, September 6 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. for a panel discussion with cybersecurity experts.
A sense of anarchy has gripped the cyberlandscape in the Asia-Pacific: Advanced Persistent Threat actors (APT) are relentlessly targeting the region's growing industry sectors.
Taiwan has faced an avalanche of cyberattacks against its newly elected government. Territorial disputes in the South China Sea steer major cyberespionage attacks against China's competing claimants to the waters, all the while Anonymous and other non-state hackers leak voter databases, target military juntas, and deface government websites across the region.
Despite the tumultuous state of cyberaffairs in the Asia-Pacific, recent reports indicate a staggering drop in Chinese hacking activities since the September 2015 agreement between the US and Chinese presidents.
To what extent does this trend apply to China's neighbors? How do the region's fluid geopolitics drive cybercampaigns? And how can the public and private sector in the Asia-Pacific better avoid falling easy prey to the attackers?
Please join the Atlantic Council on Tuesday, September 6 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. for a discussion on the evolving cyberthreats facing the Asia-Pacific as we approach the one-year anniversary of the Obama-Xi cyberespionage deal.
