Ali back in Carter's corner on anti-Olympics mission
| Nairobi, Kenya
Muhammad Ali, President Carter's controversial envoy, was received warmly Tuesday by Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi, the staunchest supporter in black Africa of Mr. Carter's appeal for a boycott of the Moscow Olympics.
After hostile conferences with the Tanzanian press, Mr. Ali had caused some consternation among US officials by saying that if he had heard before what the Tanzanians told him about US links with South Africa, he would not have undertaken the trip.
But Tuesday he reaffirmed that he was 100 percent behind Mr. Carter's call for a boycott of the summer Olympics to protest Sovet intervention in Afghanistan.
