Salvadoran leftists free 370 captives, still hold 150

Leftist militants have released 220 of 370 hostages but kept 150 captives and vowed to step up their campaign against the moderate civilian-military junta. The powerful leftist Popular Revolutionary Bloc, which is responsigle for the taking of hostages, announced a new antigovernment march Wednesday as part of its stepped-up action against the government. Witnesses said militants Tuesday freed 100 hostages at the National Agricultural Bank, another 60 at the state-owned National Aqueduct & Sewage Company, and 60 captives at the Foreign Trade Institute.
