Heavy fighting breaks truce in Chad strife

Heavy fighting broke out here Wednesday despite a truce signed by the rival armies fighting for power. The battle went into its 18th day of fighting between forces loyal to President Goukouni Oueddei and his rebellious defense minister, Hissene Habre. So far some 800 people have been killed and 2,000 wounded.
