Soviet spy planes step up flights off British coast

Soviet spy planes have increased reconnaissance flights down Britain's east coast by 25 percent in the last year, officials said Tuesday. british fighters on 250 occasions intercepted giant Russian craft carrying electronic spy equipment, they said, but at no time did the Soviet planes penetrate British airspace.
