Small businesses, farms due for more loan money

The Federal Reserve Board Thursday said $1 billion to $3 billion will be available to about 6,000 banks for loans exclusively to small-business and agricultural borrowers. The Federal Reserve will lend the money to banks at 13 percent interest. The banks in turn could lend money to small businesses and farmers at 15 to 17 percent interest.
