What a marvelous field trip for the 8th grade civics class from Bellows Falls , Vermont. On Friday, March 28, 1980, in the US District Court in Rutland, they watched eight children and 23 adults become naturalized citizens of the United States.

The 31 new citizens came from 15 different nations. Six each from Canada and Korea; three each from Germany and Italy; and two each from China and England. And one each from Bangladesh, Brazil, Columbia, Cuba, India, Ireland, Pakistan, South Vietnam, and Sweden.
