German firm plans TV plant in China

The electronics company AEG-Telefunken will build a complete television production plant for the People's Republic of China in an industrial area of that country, according to a letter of intent signed by the West German company in April.

The initial turnkey document outlines AEG as being responsible for not only the construction and equipping of the plant but also for the staff training and organization of the management structure. The Chinese government has indicated it will use AEG's PAL color system in the buildup and expansion of its TV network.
