Anderson on Anderson
In an interview the Monitor's Godfrey Sperling Jr., presidential candidate John B. Anderson says: "I resist, and I resent, and I reject the idea that participating in the democratic process as an independent candidate is warping the process."
The Republican congressman from Illinois who dropped out of the GOP primary race to test the independent route says he is not irrevocably committed yet to the fall campaign, "but it would be fair to say every experience I've had . . . as an independent candidate has only served to increase my . . . belief that we will, and can, be ultimately successful."
