Manufacturing output in Britain slid by 4.5 percent from March to May and is now equal to its lowest point during the 1975 recession, government figures showed Monday. Production in factories declined by 8 percent from November 1979 to May 1980. Overall industrial output in the same six months dropped by 5.6 percent.
