Ali Tabatabai, a former Iranian press attache under the Shah, was assassinated at his suburban home here on Tuesday, police said. Mr. Tabatabai was the head of the Iranian Freedom Foundation Inc., an anti-Khomeini group, and a known supporter of former Iranian Prime Minister Shahpour Bakhtiar, who was the object of an assassination attempt in Paris Saturday.
The identity of the assassin was not immediately known.
