Arab Emirates plans to cut oil output

The United Arab Emirates plans to cut its daily oil production by 80,000 barrels a day starting Aug. 1, Oil Minister Mana Saeed al-Otaiba said Wednesday. The U.A.E. produces 1.8 million barrels a day at present and is the eighth leading supplier to the United States. Mr. Otaiba did not say whether the 285, 000 barrels the Emirates ships daily to the US would be affected.
