Israel votes to make Jerusalem its capital

Israel voted Wednesday to make Jerusalem its capital, a move bound to spark international criticism and strain relations with the United States and Egypt. The vote in the Knesset was 69 to 15 in favor of the bill, which reasserted the Jewish state's sovereignty over the entire city, including the Arab sector annexed in 1967.
