Israeli justice minister bows out of the Cabinet

Justice Minister Shmuel Tamir tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Menachem Begin here Thursday, it was officially announced. Explaining his unexpected move, Mr. Tamir said he felt it was his duty to resign the Cabinet post after another member of his dwindling Democratic Movement left the party Wednesday, leaving the party with only three members of the Knesset (parliament) and three Cabinet members in Mr. Begin's coalition government. He said he would continue to support the coalition in the Knesset.
