Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The number of women working in the United States increased from 37 million in 1975 to 43 million in 1979 -- an increase of 17.3 percent --, according to a government report released Monday. The report was prepared by a Labor Department office specially set up in connection with the Copenhagen women's conference.
