Armenian gunmen avenge 1915 massacre by Turks
| Lyons, France
Two gunmen attacked the Turkish Consulate Tuesday, wounding four people, one seriously. A representative of the secret Liberation Army of Armenia said the attack was carried out in revenge for a massacre of Armenians in Turkey 65 years ago.
"We will continue our attacks until the day when there is justice for the genocide that took place in 1915," the called said, referring to the ethnic conflict in Turkey in which 1 million Armenians were killed and another million expelled.
The attack on the Lyons consulate was the 10th act of violence against Turkish diplomats or missions by Armenian terrorists since 1975.
