The city's Crisis Intervention network quietly lined up community leaders to "keep feelings cool" and provide accurate information as bands of youths continued hit-and-run attacks Tuesday on police patrolling a predominantly black area.Twelve policemen and two firemen were injured Monday night when 500 people surrounded a police station to protest the shooting death of a black teen-age stolen-car suspect by a white policeman. The city's police commissioner says the shooting is being fully investigated, the investigation results will be reviewed by the firearms board, and the final decision will be made public.
