Campaign Roundup

Sen. Edward Kennedy, after weeks of what many saw as half-hearted and grudging support of Carter, will be hitting harder in the finale to the campaign.

Perhaps most significant, Kennedy taped some pro-Carter commercials last week , especially targeting black and Hispanic voters. Kennedy has always been a strong favorite with ethnic minority voters, and Carter badly needs him on the front lines the final weeks to draw disaffected minorities and liberals back into the fold and to the polls.
