Japanese vehicle exports push up monthly output
| Tokyo
Japanese vehicle production, a cause of anxiety among West European and US competitors, rose 41.2 percent in September, largely because of increased exports, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said. September's production of 1,008,800 was the highest ever in that month, and was near the record 1.04 million vehicles produced last July. The association said September exports, to be announced later, were expected to have risen by about 30 percent over September 1979.
