Pay for Anderson staff 'delayed' to cover TV ads

Independent candidate John Anderson's 200 paid campaign staff members were told this week they will not get their next checks so that the last payroll -- $ 115,000 -- can be invested in badly needed television ads. A campaign source said campaign officials hope to reimburse the workers with federal election funds which the campaign, now $2 million in debt, expects to get after the election. "The way they put it was, the paychecks were 'delayed' until after the election," the source said.
