For moss on roof

To the real estate editor: In the Oct. 24 Monitor you printed several things one can do it eliminate moss on roofs, but I was surprised to see that no mention was made of the simplest of all remedies, which works wonders in the Puget Sound country.

If you put a zinc cap on the roof, the rain will do the work. Zinc is fatal to moss. If you will notice below a chimney that has been flashed with zinc or galvanized plates, there is no moss.

It's very simple and effective. I have used it in all my building of houses and never thought of it as a secret. Clare W. Tryon Seattle
