Prices at the farm surge almost 2%

Farm prices surged in November for the seventh consecutive month, the Agriculture Department reported. It said agricultural prices shot up 1.9 percent from October and were 11 percent higher than a year ago. Sharply higher prices for corn, eggs, milk, lettuce, and soybeans contributed the most to the advance. Lower prices for livestock and some fruits and vegetables helped moderate the increase.
