Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers heartily endorsed President Carter for re-election this year. But a CBS/New York Times poll of teachers voting on Nov. 4 showed that only 41 percent of rank-and-file teachers supported President Carter, while some 46 percent voted for Ronald Reagan.
