Vietnam war protestor gets 9 months in prison

Cathlyn Platt Wilkerson, a member of the Weather Underground, was sentenced to nine months in prison on charges of aggravated battery, obstruction of justice, and bail jumping stemming from the 1969 "Days of Rage." Mis Wilkerson appeared before Judge Fred G. Suria Jr., who said her protest against the Vietnam war was illegal and that the American political system was not a fault.

Miss Wilkerson surrendered to Cook County authorities Dec. 19 after 10 years in hiding. The nine-month sentence is to be served concurrently with a pris on term of up to three years pending in New York City.
