Maryland is suing Agnew for alleged bribe money

The State of Maryland filed suit seeking to order former Vice-President Spiro Agnew to pay the state $200,000 for payments he allegedly received in a bribery scandal that drove him from office. The motion filed Tuesday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court was prompted by a 1976 lawsuit by three Montgomery County residents who argued a right to recover money allegedly taken by Mr. Agnew during the bribery scheme.Neither he nor his lawyer was available for comment.
