CBS has 'Kangaroo' hopping

"Captain Kangaroo" is being sent on the road by Charkes Kuralt. Starting Sept. 28 the long-running children's show on CBS will move to the 7- 7:30 a.m. slot, to be followed by "The CBS Morning News," with Charles Kuralt plus a female co-host yet to be chosen, from 7:30 till 9 a.m. In addition CBS will add a 4-4:30 p.m. news program aimed at the family, on which Captail Kangaroo, Bob Keeshan, will appear.

According to Monitor TV critic Arthur Unger, the CBS change will probably cause a furor among parents and parent groups working in the area of children's television, since the move represents a loss of half an hour in weekday morning children's programming.
