Pakistan reports flow of Afghan refugees

A major influx of refugees crossed from Afghanistan to Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province last week, Radio Pakistan reported. It quoted the provincial commissioner for Afghan refugees as saying that 7,000 families moved over the border from Khost, in Afghanistan's Paktia Province.

In addition, the Afghan crew of a Soviet-built Ml-8 helicopter flew its aircraft to Pakistan Sunday and sought asylum, a Defense Ministry spokesman said. The three-man crew, which landed at Quetta Airport in Pakistan's Baluchistan Province, was be ing held in custody, he added.
