Pope leaves hospital and returns to Vatican

Pope John Paul II left the hospital and returned to the Vatican Wednesday, three weeks after he was shot in St. Peter's Square. The decision to discharge him was said to be a strongly positive sign of his improved health. The Pope wanted to be back in the Vatican by next Sunday, when he is due t o host a major pentecostal meeting of the world's bishops.
