Aluminum sales eased in '80 while electronics surged

Shipments of electronic equipment grew 18.5 percent in 1980. According to a report by the Electronic Industries Association, employment in electronics manufacturing rose by an estimated 7 percent last year. This compares with an overall 5 percent growth rate of US nonagricultural employment.
