Some 300 supporters of West Berlin's squatters' movement barricaded streets, smashed store windows, and stone police in a suburb. The clashes followed the detention of 60 squatters during police raids on occupied houses. The raids seem to be another sign that the new conservative West Berlin government will take a tougher line against the squatters than did its predecessors.
