Guerrillas destroy base in Namibia, Angola says

Black nationalist guerrillas destroyed a major South African military base in Namibia (South-West Africa), killing or wounding more than 100 South African soldiers, the Angolan News Agency reports.

SWAPO (South West Africa People's Organization) forces attacked the military base at Ruacana, the agency said. SWAPO described Ruacana as a joint Air Force a nd infantry base and a communications center.
