NBC and CBS weigh 60-minute newscasts

Two of the nation's major commercial television networks may begin 60-minute newscasts within the next 12 months as part of their expansion strategies. TV Guide magazine reports that officials at both NBC and CBS have been meeting to develop plans that would include lengthening their 30-minute ne wscasts.
