Airline pilot group seeks AFL-CIO aid in union fight

The Air Line Pilots' Association is asking 27 AFL-CIO unions to support a campaign against nonunion New York Air through investment pressures on Wall Street, Monitor Labor correspondent Ed Townsend reports.

The association is involved in a representation fight with New York Air, contending that its union contract with Texas International. The Wall Street campaign, headed by Ray Rogers, who used similar tactics against J. P. Stevens, seeks the withdrawal by unions of pension fund money invested in New York Air, Texas Intenational, the holding companies, and corporations represented on NYA' s board of directors.
