Rallies in West Germany protest arms planning

Tens of thousands of people protested in Bremen and West Berlin against US plans to build neutron warheads and NATO's intention to modernize its European-based nuclear missiles. Police said 60,000 people attended a rally in West Berlin and 10,000 gathered in Bremen in the latest in a series of protests over arms developments which they claim could make Europe an atomic battleground.
