More turbulence surfaced in San Francisco, when Giants' manager Frank Robinson, who criticized his players during a closed-door meeting, drew some flack in return from outfielder Jack Clark.

"People are always getting on us when we mess up," Clark said. "But nothing is ever said about Robinson's managing Frank should realize that they guys on this team aren't going to hit 500 home runs the way he did. Well, he hasn't been all that great either. In fact, he has a lot to learn about managing."
