Mike Marshall, who set a record several years ago with the Dodgers for most appearances in a season by a relief pitcher (106) but has been away from the majors for 14 months, suddenly emerged from nowhere to sign a contract with the New York Mets. Despite his inactivity, Marshall notched two quick wins.
