Soviets censor Kissinger White House memoirs

Soviet censors barred Henry Kissinger's White House memoirs from the Moscow International Book Fair, officials report. The removal of "The White House Years" was the latest in a series of censorship stories emerging from this year's book fair, the third since 1977.

The work of the former US secretary of state was suppressed for unspecified reasons related to the fair's "peace and progress" theme, which has been used to justify the censorship of other books this year.
