Several killed by a bomb in a west Beirut cinema

At least 3 people were killed and 28 wounded Sunday when a bomb exploded in a crowded west Beirut cinema, security sources reported. It was the latest in a series of bomb attacks across Lebanon which have killed 31 and wounded more than 100 over the past four days.

A group called the Front for the Liberation of Lebanon from Foreigners claimed responsibility for the blast. The front, apparently a right-wing group, has claimed responsibility for three other bombings, including an attack on the southern regional command in Sidon of joint Palestinian Lebanese leftist guerilla forces last week. Palestinian sources say they doubt that the front is anything more than a name used as a cover for Israeli agents operating in Lebanon.
