Schmidt and Mitterand back US on Euromissiles

Western German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt and French President Francois Mitterrand have endorsed President Reagan's decision to modernize the U.S. strategic nuclear arsenal, a French president official said.

The leaders agreed that Mr. Reagan's decision would improve prospects of bringing the Soviet Union into realistic negotiations in arms talks.
