President reagan met King Juan Carlos of spain Tuesday and agreed to express strong public support for Spain's speedy entry into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Common Market.
A senior US official said the Spanish monarch asked for all possible American help when he conferred with Mr. Reagan at the White House at the start of a two-day state visit.
In a briefing for reporters after the meeting, the official said King Juan Carlos told the President that Spain was determined to join NATO and the European Community as soon as possible. Spain was barred from membership because of the dictatorship of Generalissimo Francisco Franco, who died in 1975.
