US admits US citizens have aided Libyan AF
| Washington
The State Department admitted Monday that ''a number of American citizens'' have been servicing Libyan Air Force planes and flying aboard some Libyan military flights as crew members.
The confirmation came in response to questions stemming from a series of New York Times articles claiming that recruitment was being handled by Edwin Wilson, a former CIA agent now living in Libya.
Mr. Wilson, a fugitive under US indictment, is accused of using his CIA connections to serve as a recruiter and arms purchaser for the Libyan government.
