Yes, the Princess of Wales is pregnant, Buckingham Palace has announced. It's not the quickest royal pregnancy on record, but the former Lady Diana Spencer, who married Prince Charles last July, is scheduled to bear the second heir in line to the British throne in June.
So Diana keeps on charming the British people, strengthening her move from obscurity a year ago to a position as the darling of the nation.
Wherever she and Charles go, the Prince is almost ignored. Diana even upstaged Queen Elizabeth in the House of Lords at Wednesday's colorful ceremonial opening of Parliament.
