In other Republican politics, Republican national chairman Richard Richards says he expects to finish his two-year term, despite criticism from top White House aides and some conservatives.
There had been speculation Mr. Richards would resign after a series of recent problems, including his quite candid comments that both Budget Director David Stockman and national-security adviser Richard Allen were finished and that President Reagan might not run for a second term of office.
